Senior Pastor (she/they)
Sarah is an Alamance County native who holds a bachelors in Religious Studies with minors in Peace and Conflict Studies and Jewish Studies from Elon University as well as a Master of Divinity from Duke Divinity School.
As a first generation college student raised in a farming family, Sarah was a Thriving Rural Communities Fellow at Duke; a fellowship program for United Methodist students interested in ministering to rural people and reimagining church communities.
Sarah is passionate about churches being agents of good and advocates for change in the communities where they are located. While Open Table is not a rural church Sarah remains committed to connecting the church to its surrounding community and meeting people as they are where they are; affirming that all people are reflections of God and worthy of love. She loves partnering with the other non-profits who use the church space. In 2024 she won a Commnity Enrichment Award from Elon University for her work advocating for LGBTQIA+ people and creating theologically rich, inclusive church spaces.
When not at church, Sarah can be found hanging out with her cats, in the gym, watching documentaries, frequenting plays and musicals, and browsing antique stores.
