We are a Reconciling Church

On Sunday, February 19, the Open Table United Methodist Church congregation voted unanimously to become a Reconciling church. Above: The congregation that made that happen!

We affirm the Reconciling Ministries Network statement, “We celebrate God’s gift of diversity and value the wholeness made possible in community equally shared and shepherded by all. We welcome and affirm people of every gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation, who are also of every age, race, ethnicity, physical and mental ability, level of education, and family structure, and of every economic, immigration, marital, and social status, and so much more. We acknowledge that we live in a world of profound social, economic, and political inequities. As followers of Jesus, we commit ourselves to the pursuit of justice and pledge to stand in solidarity with all who are marginalized and oppressed.”

There's room for all at our table. #noexceptions

From special services, to attending Out!Raleigh festival each year, we are constantly seeking ways to increase our outreach and spread our Christian message of love, openness, and inclusivity for all. And we're always looking for more opportunities to partner with and strengthen the community. Read more below!

Queerly Beloved

Join us annually at the church for our "Queerly Beloved" service.

Modeled after Duke Chapel's famous All Saints Service, this service highlights just a few of the narratives of LGBTQIA+ Christian Saints throughout time, celebrating that LGBTQIA+ folks have and will always be important to the story of God in the world, pillars of the Christian faith, and deeply beloved by God and Open Table.

Out!Raleigh Pride

Catch Open Table UMC representing at Out!Raleigh Pride each June as we spread our message of love and acceptance (and have a whole lot of fun in the process). You won't want to miss this joyful event!
